I am currently a senior at The Pennsylvania State University pursuing a bachelors degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in geography. I am also pursuing certification in weather forecasting. I am currently a Reporter for the Centre County Report, a Fill-in Meteorologist for WENY News and a Shift Manager for the Campus Weather Service. I was able to gain valuable knowledge and experience during my internship and work at WENY News.

Valentina Valentine Ndibalema double majors in Broadcast Journalism and African Studies and is fluent in English,French and Swahili. She is a producer and director of the show “Zone In” on the Penn State Television Network. Over the past four years, she has interned at television and radio stations in Tanzania and Switzerland, interned with Penn State Athletics as a Live Production and Big Ten Network Student U intern and Production Assistant intern at International Channel Shanghai in China. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in serving as a producer or a reporter for television.

Nana Kennedy-Kwofie is a Broadcast Journalism major with minors in Economics and African American studies. She is fluent in English and French. Nana is passionate about telling multimedia stories. She is currently an anchor and reporter for the Centre County Report newscast. Nana is a producer of the shows “The 5%” and “Zone In” with Penn State Network Television. In the the future she plans to pursue a career creating documentaries and news content.

Morgan is a senior Telecommunications major and a French minor. With relevant classwork and internship experiences with StudioCanal at the Cannes Film Festival and VH1 in their Production Management department, Morgan has been exposed to many different aspects of the entertainment industry. She is ecstatic to have an opportunity to direct, technical direct and report stories for the Centre County Report. Morgan is passionate about production and can’t wait to see what is in store for her after her time at Penn State.

Nicole Joscelyn is a highly motivated Senior at the Pennsylvania State University where she majors in Broadcast Journalism and minors in International Studies with a special interest in Sports Journalism through the John Curly Center for Sports and also has a strong passion for entertainment news.  Through her education at Penn State Nicole has been able to grow and enhance her multimedia skills in print, radio and broadcasting.  Nicole plans on pursuing a career in television news.

Senior / Broadcast Journalism

Laurel Hyneman is an anchor, producer, and reporter for the Tuesday newscast of the Centre County Report.  She is a Schreyer’s Honors College scholar and is pursuing a degree in Broadcast Journalism with minors in Business and Theatre. 

She is a former intern for the American Pavilion at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival in the South of France, abc27 in Harrisburg, PA, and 69 News WFMZ-TV in Reading, PA.   

Laurel is very active in Penn State’s community. She is involved in Penn State Network Television as the Executive Producer and Showrunner for Dear Old State, a mockumentary comedy following the lives of Penn State students. She also has time to refine her writing skills as the President of the Penn State Association of Journalists for Diversity.

Throughout her experiences inside and outside the classroom, she has gained experience in using Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, Microsoft Word, JVC and DSLR cameras. Laurel is goal-oriented, ambitious, and enthusiastic about pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.

Junior / Broadcast Journalism and Spanish

Kayla is an anchor, reporter and producer for the Centre County Report. She is a junior from Shawnee, Pennsylvania, with duel majors in broadcast journalism and Spanish. Capable both in front of and behind the camera, she aspires to work in broadcast news television. She is currently a news reporting intern for WPSU FM, and will be working in Washington D.C. in the fall of 2016 as a part of the College of Communications’ Washington Program. She spent a summer studying Spanish language and history abroad in Ronda, Spain. Aside from her work in broadcasting, Kayla is also a student manager at the Findlay Dining Commons at Penn State.
