Mike Gilbert
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Has interned with WYLNTV-35, SportsNet New York, NPR New York Affiliate, WNYC, GoPSUSports.com, The Rye Record, MSG Varsity. Anchored sports for live newscasts at WYLN as well as created packages, VOs and VOSOTs. Covered local high school, college and professional sports including the Yankees Triple-A affiliate. Current contributor for Centre County Report and member of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism. My goal is to take over for Howard Stern when he retires, but more realistically, and since Howard can never be replaced, to become a sports anchor or studio host in a major market or nationally.

Dara Cooper
Senior / Broadcast Journalism
Dara serves as the News Director for ComRadio, along with being a part of Penn State’s Centre County Report. Throughout her time at Penn State, Dara has interned at various television production companies: Line by Line Productions/ Alex Coletti Productions, Park Slope Productions, ITV Studios, and Lucky Duck Productions. She also currently works at Penn State Athletics as an Assistant Director. After graduation, Dara hopes to work in the broadcast industry as a Director or Producer.

Maddie Brightman
Senior / Broadcast Journalism and Spanish
Maddie Brightman is the General Manger of ComRadio and a reporter and producer for the Centre County Report. A member of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism, Maddie was recently a part of reporting trips to Cuba and Super Bowl 50. At ComRadio, she also serves as a producer for multiple Penn State sports has done play by play for Penn State football, baseball and lacrosse.
Maddie has interned at ESPN, Fox Sports Radio (Los Angeles), WBAL-TV (Baltimore) and 105.7 the Fan (Baltimore). One day, Maddie hopes to work behind the scenes in management or production for a national sports network. After I graduate in December 2016, I intend to work as a digital journalist for a television news station. I have interned with FOX 5 D.C. since 2013 where I have conducted interviews, produced weekly segments and produced original content for the website. Visual storytelling has become my forte.

After interning at CBS New York and at CNN, Waiss is usually working at The Daily Collegian as the Social Media Editor or at the Centre County Report. He’s also been the Executive Producer of PSN News and worked on THON’s live webcast, 46 LIVE.
