David “DJ” M. Bauer Jr. is a senior from Valencia, Pennsylvania majoring in broadcast journalism at Penn State. He is an editor, writer, producer, and play-by-play announcer for the CommRadio sports department. His writings include the Weekly NFL Game Picks series, Bauertology, and the NCAA Bubble Watch series. He is the co-host of the CommRadio talk show 4th & Long alongside Jeremy Ganes. Alongside Andrew Destin, Andrew Field and Zach Donaldson, he is one of CommRadio’s Penn State football insiders, a group of elite writers who cover Penn State football in depth during the 2020 season. He was also a production intern for the Frontier League’s Washington Wild Things baseball club. Josh Starr

Josh Starr calls play-by-play as a part of CommRadio’s coverage of Penn State Athletics. He is also one of CommRadio’s student general managers. He hosts Turning Two on CommRadio and spent the 2019 summer as the broadcaster for the Alexandria Aces. His career goal is to become a professional sports broadcaster. Christopher Hess

Fifth Year / Broadcast Journalism

Hailing from Long Island, Christopher is a fifth-year with experience broadcasting football, volleyball, hockey, baseball, softball and public address announcing. Chris has been featured on State College Saturdays, CommRadio’s Saturday college football pregame show, Daylate Tailgate, CommRadio’s Sunday college football recap show, and on a number of podcasts. Chris also writes a number of articles during football and hockey season and is an insider for the men’s hockey team. Chris is also a co-host on Hockey Night in State College and 1st & 10. Chris is interested in either play-by-play or working in the sports media department for a college or professional sports team alongside being a sports radio personality. Emilie Kyler

Senior /

Emilie has gained experience through an internship with the station B94.5 in the summer of 2019. In that position, she collected daily content for the morning show, managed all the social media accounts, and learned editing, copy writing, voice over and audio production. She had accepted a special events internship for the summer of 2020 with The Ronald McDonald House, but was not able to complete it due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Emilie is now looking forward to starting Centre County Report and being able give herself a new challenge.
