The fund-raising total for this year's virtual THON is revealed on the Four Diamonds stage at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Since it began in 1973, THON's raised more than $180 million benefitting the families of children with cancer through direct financial support and financial support of Penn State's Hershey Medical Center.
This year, THON faced many challenges because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of dancers was down 15 percent and THON 2021 was an entirely virtual event. Despite that, THON still raised $10,638,078.62, roughly a million dollars less than last year's total of $11,696,942.38.
