Students react to reports that Paterno is gravely ill
After a number of conflicting reports about former Penn State Coach Joe Paterno’s health, hundreds of students and fans gathered in front of his statue outside Beaver Stadium to show their support. Despite the freezing temperatures, the crowd stood with candles, flowers, and cardboard cutouts of the coach to honor his legacy.
The Centre County Report spoke with Jay Paterno who said his father is in “a tough place” but that he’s “a fighter," giving the students hope.
