Matt was born in Spangler, Pennsylvania in 1983. He grew up in Patton, Pennsylvania with his mother, father and one younger sister. Matt attended Cambria Heights High School and graduated in 2001. Upon graduation he began attending Slippery Rock University. During his semester at Slippery Rock the attack on 9/11 took place and he felt compelled to do something. Matt left school in 2002 and joined the United States Army where he was a SINGCARS radio operator for three years. He completed his three year enlistment with an honorable discharge and returned to Pennsylvania with his wife. For the next four years he installed cellular networks on towers throughout the northeast. He is now finishing his bachelors degree at the Pennsylvania State University. Matt also became a first time father this year when his wife gave birth to his son Maddox in October. He is now looking forward to beginning his professional career and raising his family.
