Best Songs for Artists to play at Movin’ On
“151 Rum” - J.I.D & “Everybody Talks” - Neon Trees
This year’s Movin’ On Lineup has a little bit of everything for music lovers with different tastes. With artists from pop, rock and rap, organizers covered a lot of bases with this selection.
Just before his world tour starting in June, artist J.I.D will be making a stop here at Happy Valley, an unexpected, but spectacular surprise.
Hearing the American rapper's unique flow live, is most definitely something to look forward to, especially in the track “151 Rum”. For those who haven’t heard this one yet, it is of great urgency that you stop reading this, go on Spotify–or Apple Music, whichever you prefer– and listen to the track. You’ll be happy you did.
While J.I.D will undoubtedly be a hit with the festival crowd, Neon Trees will be a nice blast to the past.
Sure everyone knows “Everybody Talks”, but for those who want to recognize more than one track during their set, definitely add “Sleeping With a Friend” to your listening repertoire this week. Hate it or love it, there is a 99.9% chance that they’ll perform this one.
Whether someone is a faithful Neon Trees fan or not, chances are it would not be too tough to find someone who is familiar with this track.

“Surround Sound” (feat. 21 Savage & Baby Tate) by JID
Any music lover will enjoy “Surround Sound”, even the listeners who aren’t obsessed with rap.
“Surround Sound” has aspects for everyone: the slower-paced repeated chorus, fun upbeat beat and rhythm, and hard-hitting rap.
If this were to be played, it would be expected that everyone at Movin’ On will be thrilled and begin to sing along.
“Surround Sound” is one of JID’s more popular songs with it being the second most played song on his Spotify discography.
This song would be the perfect song to play at Movin’ On to incorporate rap and complement Neon Trees and COIN, which are more pop and indie focused.
With “Surround Sound” in JID’s set, Movin’ On will be a more exciting experience that will include every attendee’s music taste. - Natalie Simone
“Crash My Car”- COIN
“Crash My Car” is a song that was made to be screamed by a huge festival crowd.
It’s one of COIN’s most popular hits, so the chances of them playing it at Movin’ On are high.
The first verse has a simple beat and summer-y lyrics– “All eyes on the golden girl / She’s gonna tell ya, gonna tell ya / Gonna tell ya that you’re too sweet.”
However, there’s more to this girl than meets the eye. She can also “cut ya real deep” and that scares Chase Lawrence, lead vocalist for COIN.
He knows she’s going to break his heart, but he can’t stay away.
The chorus hits, and the song takes on a completely new life. Lawrence belts out that this “golden girl” can crash his car, go out and waste all his time and money.
Even though the lyrics are a little insane, this song is perfect for rolling down the windows and screaming on a summer night. Or in this case, rocking out on the IM field. -Kaitlyn Murphy
