Fantasy Basketball: Waiver Wire Week 4

Story posted November 13, 2022 in CommRadio, Sports by Ben Palillo

We are just over four weeks into the fantasy basketball season, and with player roles beginning to become established, it is a great time to take a look at the waiver wire and pick up some serviceable players for your squad.

Let’s dive into who you should be looking to add this week.

Dennis Smith Jr, PG, Charlotte Hornets

The former ninth-overall pick has bounced around the league during his short tenure. However, after struggling with the Portland Trail Blazers, it looked like his time in the NBA might be finished.

But with injuries to their backcourt, the Hornets took a shot on the hometown kid, and it has paid off. Smith Jr. plays nearly 30 minutes a night while averaging 10.2 points, 6.2 assists and two steals per game.

Smith Jr. is also averaging 32.7 fantasy points per game and with Gordon Hayward and LaMelo Bell continuing to miss games due to injuries, add Smith Jr. in every league you can.

Caris LeVert, SG/SF, Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers have had a fantastic start to the season, starting 8-4. Of course, much of that is credited to the tremendous play of a significant offseason acquisition; Donovan Mitchell. Still, the contributions of his supporting cast, particularly Caris Levert, can not be overstated.

Levert is averaging 13.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. This decent stat line has been good enough for LeVert to average 27.2 fantasy points per game. LeVert also has a solid floor, as he has scored 21 or more fantasy points in seven of his first 12 games this season.

If you are looking for solid production from your shooting guard or small forward position, add LeVert.

Bojan Bogdanović, PF, Detroit Pistons

Bogdanović‘s first season in Detroit has gone exceptionally well as he continues to be one of the best shooting big men in the league.

Bogdanović is averaging 19.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. That scoring-heavy statline is good enough to average 27.4 fantasy points per game.

Give Bogdanović an add as the Pistons will continue to trail games resulting in him playing many minutes and taking a bunch of shots.

Ivica Zubac, C, Los Angeles Clippers

If you're looking for some center production, look no further than Clippers' Ivica Zubac.

Zubac is playing 30 minutes a night while averaging a double-double ( 10.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per game). He is supplementing that by being a menace in the paint averaging 2.4 blocks a game.

Those stats allow Zubac to average 32.3 fantasy points a game, yet he is still available in 30% of leagues.

Add Zubac to your squad to get an instant high-quality starter.
