Fantasy Hockey Outlook: Week 15

Story posted January 18, 2023 in CommRadio, Sports by James Morrison

There are just seven matchups remaining in the fantasy hockey season and playing the waiver wire just right can give your team the edge.

Flyers forward Scott Laughton has been performing really well as of late and has 77.7 points on the season, so he can be a guy who is added and kept throughout the season.

Laughton has the second most points among forwards in the past seven days.

Kirby Dach is having a career year so far and has been a top-70 forward throughout the season which should earn him a roster spot in 10-team leagues, but he is owned in just 12.3 percent of all leagues.

Kim Kostin is playing on the left wing of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins who has been a really underappreciated forward for the past couple of years and still produces at a high level.

Kostin should capitalize off the top six playing time with a very talented center and should be a bottom of the roster consideration.

Former Lightning prospect and current Blackhawks forward Taylor Raddysh is really starting to find his game in Chicago and has 10.5 points in the past five days.

He is currently playing right wing on the second line with Jonathan Toews and if Patrick Kane gets traded at the deadline then he can move up to the top line.

Adam Henrique may play on the worst team in the NHL in the Ducks but he has some very talented linemates in Troy Terry and Mason McTavish.

Henrique also has 9.7 points in the past week and averages 1.7 per game.

Ben Chiarot of the Red Wings is rostered in just 39.6 percent of leagues yet he is the 31st ranked defenseman and has 12.1 points in the past week.

Joel Edmundson has been the top option on defense for the Canadiens this season but could get moved at the deadline. Edmundson is averaging two points per game and has 70 points on the season.

Aside from Dmitry Orlov, Martin Fehervary may be the Capitals best option to get offense from their defense.

In his last six games he has just scored under one point just once and has 60.8 points on the season.

Andrew Peeke may be worth an add as Columbus will likely move on from Vladislav Gavrikov at the trade deadline and Peeke would probably move up on the depth chart for the Blue Jackets.

He has not had under a point in the last six games he has been in and has even scored once in that stretch.

For goaltenders, Sam Montembeault has been good for the Canadiens recently and has played in the past five games. He has put up at least five points in the last three Canadiens wins while also having positive points in the two he lost in his last five games.

Filip Gustavsson is the 14th ranked goaltender in fantasy hockey and has split time with Marc Andre Fleury but is only rostered in 22.1 percent of leagues.
