Former Penn State defensive tackle Robert Windsor retires from NFL

After a two-year NFL career, former Penn State defensive tackle Robert Windsor announced his retirement Wednesday night.

Windsor made the announcement on Twitter citing the two major surgeries he endured in the past nine months.

Following a rookie season where he recorded two tackles in 2020, Windsor missed the entire 2021 season due to a hip injury that came right before final cuts were made.

Windsor spent both of his NFL seasons with the Indianapolis Colts after being drafted by them in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Before the NFL, Windsor had a decorated four-year career with the Nittany Lions which lasted from 2016-2019.

In 2018, Windsor had a career-high 7.5 sacks and followed that up by making Second-team All-Big Ten in the 2019 season.

Windsor ended his college career by recording both a sack and tackle for loss during the Nittany Lions Cotton Bowl victory against Memphis.

Windsor graduated from Penn State with a degree in telecommunications.
