Penn State has dominated to start the 2022 season and after a few announcements from four seniors on Wednesday, the Nittany Lions should continue to do so in the 2023 campaign.

Setter Cole Bogner, opposite hitter Cal Fisher, middle blocker Sam Marsh and outside hitter Brett Wildman all announced that they would use their final year of eligibility and return for the 2023 season.

The announcements were made official by the Penn State Men’s Volleyball Twitter account ahead of the Nittany Lions' senior day matchup against St. Francis College Brooklyn on Friday.

All four players have played a crucial role on a Nittany Lions team that has started the season with a 20-3 record and a No. 3 ranking in the coaches poll.

Of those 20 wins, the Nittany Lions are a perfect 13-0 in EIVA conference play and have only lost a combined three sets in those games.

Bogner is the reigning EIVA Player of the Year and has been equally as dominant this season leading the conference in assists per set with 10.

Fisher has made the EIVA First Team in each of the past two seasons and ranks second on the team with 250 kills after leading the country in that category last year.

Marsh enjoyed a breakout season last year as he finished third in the conference with 66 blocks and was named an All-EIVA Honorable Mention.

Wildman took home the title of EIVA Player of the Year the campaign before Bogner in 2020 and ranks just one kill behind Michael Fisher of Saint Francis for first in the conference this season.

All four players should play a huge role in the Nittany Lions' continued success both on a conference and national stage for this season and the next.
