UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Michigan Wolverines defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions 10-0 in six innings on Saturday at Beard Field in University Park.

The game was the first of a doubleheader and was a no-hitter until the final inning. The win brought the Wolverines’ record to 26-5 while the Nittany Lions fell to 5-24. The Wolverines are ranked No. 19 in the nation.

Michigan dominated in almost every statistical category with 14 hits, three doubles and eight RBIs while the Nittany Lions had just two hits all afternoon.

Michigan also had one home run by Taylor Bump: the first run of the game. Bump later had a stand-up double and went 3-for-3 on the day as a key offensive player.

Defensively, Wolverines pitcher Alex Storako had 11 strikeouts, nine through the first three innings. Storako, a junior, has been named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week four times this season.

In addition to the Nittany Lions’ struggle to get a hit off of Storako, they also made two errors on defense, which aided the Wolverines in increasing their run count.

Michigan sophomore Jessica Garmen made her first plate appearance of the season with an RBI double that scored the 10th and final run of the game for the Wolverines.
