NFL Game of the Week: Seahawks vs. Bills
Twenty-six touchdowns, 2,151 passing yards and a passer rating of 120.7. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is on track to put up career records and is the leading candidate for the MVP award.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen had an impressive start to the season, having 16 total touchdowns in his first six games. But he was unable to throw a single touchdown in the past two weeks. Allen was also on pace to contend for the MVP award, but that notion is beginning to slip away.
The Seattle Seahawks will travel on the road to take on the Buffalo Bills in this Week 9 showdown. Both teams are coming off impressive wins last week against divisional opponents.
This is going to be a great showdown between two talented quarterbacks. A win for either team will be crucial in pushing them further up the standings.
Russell Wilson was back to normal last week, throwing for 261 yards and four touchdowns against the 49ers. After the loss to the Cardinals, this was a great bounce-back divisional win for the Seahawks.
The Seahawks dominated the entire game. Their defense, which ranks the worst in the league, was able to hold its own, allowing only seven points to the 49ers in the first three quarters.
Meanwhile, the Bills dominated the run game against the Patriots, rushing for a total of 190 yards. Devin Singletary and Zack Moss each touched the ball 14 times and rushed over 80 yards. This was by far the most rushing yards the Bills have had in a game all year, and they will be hard to beat if they continue to do this.
Going back to Seattle, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett have been an unstoppable receiving duo, each having several monster games this year. Metcalf and Lockett are tied for first for most touchdowns by a receiver with seven each.
The Buffalo Bills are dealing with several injuries in their defensive backfield in Josh Norman and Micah Hyde. Without a healthy secondary, the Seahawks’ passing attack will have a field day against the Bills.
The Bills strength on defense is stopping the run game. Seattle is dealing with multiple running back injuries, with Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde listed as questionable. Buffalo should focus its defense on the pass game since Seattle will most likely be without its top two running backs.
This is going to be a really close game featuring offenses with high passing volume. Allen will have to play like he did the first several weeks in order for the Bills to win this game.
On top of that, the Bills need to slow down Wilson, which has been a difficult feat for every team that has played the Seahawks.
All in all, Seattle’s offense is too powerful for the Bills to keep up with and will be the reason that the Seahawks come out on top. Expect a high-scoring game with big passing plays coming from both offenses. Seattle wins this, adding to its already strong résumé.
Prediction: Seahawks 27, Bills 24
