NFL Top 10: Dec. 6

Story posted December 6, 2022 in CommRadio, Sports by Adam Funk

We take a look at the Top 10 NFL Teams heading into Week 14.

10. Tennessee Titans (7-5)

Tennessee just had its most embarrassing game of the season, being blown out by the Eagles and A.J. Brown, the wide receiver they traded this offseason, who went off for eight catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns.

The team, though leading its division, is going through turmoil and just fired their general manager, Jon Robinson, who built a Tennessee team that never went under .500 during his tenure.

9. Baltimore Ravens (8-4)

The Ravens won against the Broncos but at a major cost, as Lamar Jackson got injured and missed most of the game and could miss more time. His replacement, Tyler Huntley did enough to help the team win, but it remains to be seen what Baltimore can do against a team with a capable offense, compared to a Broncos.

8. Miami Dolphins (8-4)

The Dolphins finally lost a game where quarterback Tua Tagovailoa played its entirety.

Miami struggled against a San Francisco team that had to insert its backup into the game. Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle only had one catch in the game, and Miami needs left tackle Terron Armstead to return, as the offensive line struggled mightily against the 49ers’ potent pass rush.

7. San Francisco 49ers (8-4)

San Francisco won, though it remains to be seen what its offense looks like when Brock Purdy under center.

The 49ers have the playmakers needed to win, and their defense continues to prove they are one of the league's best, but a team starting Mr. Irrelevant at quarterback, as a rookie, makes for a huge looming question mark.

6. Cincinnati Bengals (8-4)

The Bengals continue to prove that last season was not a fluke, and that showed in beating the Chiefs on Sunday.

Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase returned to action and put up seven catches for 97 yards. The offensive line reinforcements are starting to pay off, and this team is getting better at the right time.

5. Minnesota Vikings (10-2)

The Vikings were able to hold off the Jets to win on Sunday, but it’s an unconvincing one for Minnesota.

The Vikings have lost to both Dallas and Philadelphia this year and still look like the clear number three team in the NFC this season, not good enough for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.

4. Dallas Cowboys (9-3)

The Cowboys have proven that they are one of the best teams in the league, dominating against whoever they’ve played in recent weeks.

Dak Prescott is getting better, and the Cowboys defense keeps improving. Dallas’ talent on its roster isn’t a question, but January is where it counts.

3. Kansas City Chiefs (9-3)

The Chiefs remain one of the best of the AFC even though they lost to the Bengals.

The Patrick Mahomes-Travis Kelce tandem remains potent, and the team has usually been at its best when the calendar hits December and there is less margin for error.

2. Buffalo Bills (9-3)

The Bills got back on track with a pair of victories against the Lions and Patriots. While Buffalo hasn’t reached its full potential for most of the season, this team has a ton of talent and with everyone healthy they can prove why they were Super Bowl favorites heading into the season.

The key is getting healthy, and the team needs star defensive end Von Miller to return at some point this season.

1. Philadelphia Eagles (11-1)

The Eagles remain in the top spot like they have been for most of the season.

The team with the best record in the league blew out the Titans and the combination of A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith at wide receiver are proving to be one of the best duos in the league.

People will question the competition Philadelphia has faced on its way to its record, but the Birds still keep winning.
