Nittany Lions Fall to Iowa

The Iowa offense showed to be too much for Penn State tonight as forward Aaron White helped lead the Hawkeyes to a dominating 76-67 victory over Penn State.

Penn State came out of the gates strong, starting the game by opening up a quick 10-3 lead over their conference foe, but the Nittany Lions couldn't maintain their physical start as the Hawkeyes started to pull away.

Iowa finished the first half leading 34-26, a half which was capped off with the help of Iowa's junior forward Melsahn Basabe's two handed slam over two Penn State defenders with a minute and half to go.

The second half started similarly as Pat Chambers' squad erased a 12 point half time deficit and trimmed the Hawkeye lead to lead to five at the under 16 timeout. After that timeout, Iowa, led by White and Basabe, pulled away from Penn State as the Nittany Lions couldn't produce offensively to hang with the Hawkeyes.
