Penn State in NFL: Week 6

Former Penn State football players are continuing to make waves at the next level with the NFL season officially one-third of the way through.

Here’s a look at some of the top performers from this past weekend.

Miles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles remain the only undefeated team in the NFL and Sanders is a big part as to why.

Under the lights against the Dallas Cowboys, Sanders ran for 71 yards and found the endzone in the Eagles 26-17 victory.

Sanders has remained consistent throughout the season as he looks to set career highs in several major categories.

Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants

While the Eagles remain the class of the NFC East, the Giants are not far behind them with just one loss on the season.

Barkley’s resurgence has helped paved the way for the Giants as he ran for 83 yards and a touchdown.

That came in a comeback victory against the Baltimore Ravens as Big Blue remains one of the bigger surprises of the season thus far.

Mike Gesicki, TE, Miami Dolphins

The griddy may not be on point, but Gesicki sure was this past week.

Despite having both Skylar Thompson and Teddy Bridgewater as his signal callers, Gesicki still kept the Dolphins in the game against the Minnesota Vikings with his play.

Gesicki had both of the Dolphins touchdowns on offense to go along with six receptions for 69 yards in what was eventually a Dolphins loss.

Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It’s been rough sledding so far for the Buccaneers’ wide receiver.

Godwin had been dealing with injuries up to this week while the Buccaneers themselves have gotten off to a slow start to the season.

While the Buccaneers did fall to the Pittsburgh Steelers this week, it wasn’t due to Godwin’s play.

Godwin caught six passes for 95 yards, leading the team in both categories.

Nick Scott, S, Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are another team that have gotten off to a slow start with what has been a Super Bowl hangover.

Scott was a part of a defense which was one of the best in recent memory last season and he finally made his presence felt last week.

In a win over the Carolina Panthers, Scott recorded an interception towards the late stages of the game for what was the first of the season for him.
