Penn State in the NFL: Week 12 Edition
It was a very strong week for several former Nittany Lions at the pro level and it’s that time of the week again to give it a recap.
Let’s look at the best of the group for this edition.
Miles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
We’re starting off with a bang here as Sanders had arguably his best game of the season on Sunday Night Football.
In a close home win against the Green Bay Packers, Sanders went off for 143 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
That performance was just the second time this season where Sanders eclipsed 100 rushing yards which came against the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this season.
Sanders is now at 900 rushing yards on the season which is already his career high with more games to play.
Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Godwin was another Penn Stater who saved his best offensive game of the season for Week 12.
His performance wasn’t good enough to get the Buccaneers an overtime win over the Cleveland Browns but he still caught 12 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown.
That’s both the first 100 yard and double digit catch performance of the season for the Tampa Bay wideout.
Micah Parsons, LB, Dallas Cowboys
Parsons and the Cowboys were able to steal the Thanksgiving spotlight from another Penn Stater in Saquon Barkley with a dominant performance on the defensive end.
In a win over Barkley’s Giants, Parsons picked up three total tackles with two sacks.
It’s the second straight multi-sack game for Parsons and already his sixth on the season.
Nick Scott, S, Los Angeles Rams
The Rams may be off to a rough start this season but Scott did his job against the Kansas City Chiefs.
In the loss, Scott came away with a red zone interception against Patrick Mahomes which was the only time the former MVP was picked off all game.
That’s the second interception of the season for Scott with the other coming against the Carolina Panthers.
Adrian Amos, S, Green Bay Packers
Let’s close things out with a player on the other side of the game we opened off with.
Amos recorded nine total tackles in a loss against the Eagles which was third most on the Packers.
It’s the third consecutive week where Amos has posted nine tackles or more.
