Penn State in the NFL: Week Seven

Week seven of the NFL brought some big and exciting games for fans across the country. The latest slate of games also brought on some big time performances by big time players, the same could be said for former Penn State football players.

Former Nittany Lions linebacker NaVorro Bowman of the San Francisco 49ers had a great performance in a 31-17 win over the Tennessee Titians. Bowman recorded six tackles in the victory bringing his season total to 59.

Robbie Gould of the Chicago Bears, one of the top kickers in the NFL, had a solid performance in a 45-41 loss to the Washington Redskins. He was two for three on field goals, with his longest coming from 49 yards away.

Former first-round pick Tamba Hali had a career day in a 17-16 win over the Houston Texans, recording six tackles, two forced fumbles and two and a half sacks. That brings the linebacker’s total to nine sacks on the season along with 23 tackles and four forced fumbles. The victory brought the Kansas City Chiefs their seventh win on the season, leaving them the lone remaining unbeaten team in the NFL.

Defensive end Jared Odrick of the Miami Dolphins had two tackles in a 23-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills. That brings his season total to 18 tackles on the season.

Sean Lee of the Dallas Cowboys had 11 tackles and one interception in a 17-3 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. This brings the linebackers total to 71 tackles and two interceptions so far in the 2013 season.

Linebacker Josh Hull of the Washington Redskins had two tackles in a 45-41 win over the Chicago Bears. That brings his career total to 13.

Defensive end Cameron Wake of the Miami Dolphins recorded just one tackle in a close 23-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Wake was probable coming into the game, due to his knee injury he suffered earlier in the season.

Penn State linebacking legend Paul Posluszny of the Jacksonville Jaguars, recorded 14 tackles in a 24-6 loss to the San Diego Chargers. This brings his total to 68 tackles on the season along with two interceptions and one sack.

Devon Still of the Cincinnati Bengals recorded two tackles at the defensive tackle position in a 27-24 win over the Detroit Lions bringing his season total to seven tackles on the season.

Wide receiver Derek Moye of the Pittsburgh Steelers had one reception for 19 yards en route to a 19-16 victory over their division rival and defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens.

Offensive lineman Levi Brown was placed on injured reserve by the Pittsburgh Steelers six days ago, after suffering a triceps injury. His return back to action is unknown. Brown was traded to the Steelers by the Arizona Cardinals.

Defensive tackle Jordan Hill of the Seattle Seahawks was declared inactive. The former Penn Stater has recorded five tackles this season along with a half sack.
