Penn State in the NFL: Week Three

Recap of former Penn State players now in the NFL, and their performances in week three.

Dallas Cowboys middle linebacker Sean Lee led his team with seven total tackles, as the Cowboys dismantled the St. Louis Rams 31-7. Lee also recovered a fumble.

Another former Penn State linebacker, who played alongside Lee, topped his former teammate with nine tackles. However, Navorro Bowman couldn’t propel his 49ers to victory. Through three weeks, Bowman has tallied 28 tackles.  

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali recorded his first sack of the season against Michael Vick on Thursday night. His sack came in the 2nd quarter when the Chiefs had a 10-6 lead in Philadelphia.

Good news from Jacksonville is that linebacker Paul Posluszny recorded 12 total tackles on Sunday and has 31 total for the season. The bad news is that the Jaguars are 0-3 and lost 45-17 against the Seahawks.

And for the non-linebackers, Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake left the game with a knee injury against the Falcons. Dolphin’s other PSU defensive end Jared Odrick had 3 total tackles. Dolphins won 27-23.

Cardinals left tackle Levi Brown started against the Saints. As a team the Arizona offensive line gave up four sacks in a 31-7 loss in New Orleans. Chargers guard Rich Ohrnberger and Jonnie Troutman saw some action in a 20-17 lost against the Titans. Ravens center A.Q Shipley also saw some action in a 30-9 win against the Texans.

Packers Tight End Andrew Quarless caught three passes for 21 yards in a 34-30 loss to the Bengals.
