Penn State continues to add to its impressive 2023 recruiting class on Wednesday night.

Three-star wide receiver Ejani Shakir announced his commitment to become the latest Nittany Lion via Twitter. Shakir is the No. 12 player to commit to the blue and white.

The Atco, New Jersey, native measures 6′-0″ and 175 pounds while being the No. 47 ranked receiver in the country and the seventh-best player from New Jersey.

Coach James Franklin has put a major emphasis on beefing up the offensive line while adding some solid pieces to the defense along the way.

After landing four wide receivers in their 2022 class, Shakir marks the first wide receiver to join the Nittany Lions.

The Winslow Township High School product is coached by former Nittany Lions Bill Belton and Christian Hackenberg.

Both Penn State and West Virginia have heavily recruited the wideout with the blue and white picking up two crystal balls for him this past week from 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn and Tyler Donohue of Lions247.

Shakir made an unofficial visit to Happy Valley on April 20, and he made two more unofficial visits last fall. He also attended Penn State’s football camp last summer and the blue and white made an offer to him in April 2021.

The Nittany Lions recruiting class sits in the top five and is one of the best in the Big Ten.
