UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Spring Career Day is one of the biggest university career fairs in the United States. Penn State University held its semi-annual event at the HUB Robeson Center Monday and Tuesday.

Career day is an event where employers and students or potential employees gather together. Students are able to talk to companies they are interested in and learn more about their intended career path. Additionally, companies talk to students about their job, what it entails, and offer them experience for future reference.

Joelma Monteiro, an education major and student volunteer, guided people on where to go. Monteiro shared her thoughts about the event, “There are many reasons why I think students should embrace this opportunity. We have the opportunity to meet employers from different areas,” Monterio said.

“During the Career Fair, we have the opportunity to [learn how to] draft our letters, resumes, and many other stuff. It is important for us as professionals, that we are, to get engaged with these kinds of activities,” Monterio said.

173 employers attended the event, including the likes of Amazon, Geico and Enterprise Holdings, Inc.
