Met Gala Worst Looks
The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City, often called “fashion’s night out.” With such a prestigious reputation, celebrities are expected to dress to impress. Unfortunately, some celebrities’ outfits just didn’t cut it.
Kim Kardashian
Showing up in a full black outfit that covered her face, the overall look was confusing. What did it have to do with the theme? Nobody knows.
Rihanna & Asap Rocky
Perhaps the looks were the couple’s attempt at a bold fashion statement. Overall, the outfits perfectly embodied grandma’s quilt.
Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello

Even though they were not the worst looking couple of the night, their outfits didn’t seem to match. It looked as if they were attending two different events. Additionally, Shawn Mendes basically didn’t wear a shirt.

In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion, the theme for the 2021 Met Gala, gave their guests enough freedom to be creative while still following the theme. This year, the best dressed managed to show their authenticity while still remaining faithful to the theme.
Lupita Nyong'o
This fashion mogul wore denim to represent American fashion, visible in her beautiful Versace gown that reminded everyone of Britney Spears’ 2001 VMA look.
Nikkie de Jager
The influencer paid homage to American queer activist, Martha P. Johnson. She wore a beautiful aqua dress by the designer Edwin Ousdhoorn, a flower headpiece and perfected her look with P. Johnson’s iconic phrase written across her dress: “Pay it no mind”.
Evan Mock
The Gossip Girl star surprised everyone with his frightening yet intriguing leather mask and suit by designer Thom Browne. This creepy take on fashion made him stand out by executing a timeless look.
