Halloween is once again around the corner and that means costumes and candy. In this listicle, the Arts and Entertainment Department share some suggestions for what could be an iconic Halloween costume this year.

Adam Sandler Costume

What better way to spend Halloween than dressed in oversized clothing?

A funny, comfortable, conversation starting route to take a costume is dressing as comedian Adam Sandler.

Most can easily identify his “streetwear” style, which normally consists of baggy basketball shorts that are at least mid-shin length and an oversized t-shirt, making this a recognizable, yet convenient choice.

If the weather is cold enough, add an oversized zip-up sweatshirt or opt for a full sweatsuit instead.

Items for this costume can be gathered from Walmart, Goodwill, or even by borrowing clothes from a friend. Whatever the outfit is, remember it must be oversized.

Additional accessories could include dad-like sunglasses and a pair of Nike high top sneakers to complete the look. - Megan Kelby

Daphne Bridgerton Costume

The original Netflix series “Bridgerton” had groundbreaking success after it was released in December 2020.  The series ranked amongst the top 10 shows on Netflix for weeks.

In addition to the juicy drama between Daphne Bridgerton and the Duke of Hastings, “Bridgerton” stood out for its classy costume design. Since it takes place in the 1800s, the show would inspire a matchless costume this Halloween.

“Bridgerton” can be brought to the 21st century on a budget. A Daphne Bridgerton costume can easily be recreated by wearing a simple cap sleeve dress and long gloves.
If you are looking for something more unique, there are plenty of options inspired by the classic Regency Period.

Olivia Rodrigo from the “Good 4 U” music video

No one may be having a better 2021 than pop-sensation Olivia Rodrigo. While her debut single “Driver’s License” puts her on the map, her third single off her debut album “Good 4 U” has established her as a household name.

Considering it is the first Halloween that Rodrigo is a prominent name, there is no one better to dress up as and no better look than her cheer uniform from the “Good 4 U” video.

All that is needed for this costume is a light blue and white cheer uniform along with a pair of long black latex gloves.

Not only is this costume cute and fitting in with the early 2000s style comeback, anyone who wears it is going to be comfortable. This makes for the perfect outfit whether it's out trick-or-treating or spending the night on the dance floor.

Anyone who wants a good pop-culture costume is going to want to figure out what size cheer uniform they are because there’s no better way to celebrate Halloween this year than Olivia Rodrigo and “Good 4 U” - Sophia D’Ovidio
