The Mandalorian” – Season 2, Episode 4: “The Siege” Review

In the fourth episode of the This Is the Way Weekly podcast, Colton Pleslusky and Sam Roberts discuss "The Siege," the fourth episode of season two of "The Mandalorian."
For weeks now, fans of “The Mandalorian” have been waiting to see when the show would bring back some more familiar faces. On this episode, “The Siege,” we finally see Cara Dune and Greef Karga make their first debut in season two.
In the ending of the last episode, Mando had been given a name to return the child “Baby Yoda” to an ancient species of jedi. The name he was told was Ahsoka Tano.
Starting off episode four, Mando and Baby Yoda are in the severely damaged Razor Crest looking for help to fix it up. They seek help from the planet where the series started off, Nevarro.
Upon arrival, he is greeted by his old pals Greef Karga and the new marshal Cara Dune. They invite him to tour the newly reformed town while Karga’s men work on the damaged Razor Crest.
While waiting for the repairs, Dune and Karga ask Mando for his help to deal with an old Imperial base. At first, Mando is hesitant to get into another potential mess, but he understands that he has time and owes his friends.
The group leaves the child at the town’s school, while the trio and ex-convict Pedro Pascal take on the task of getting rid of the final Stormtroopers on Nevarro.
While storming the base, minutes before it is destroyed by lava, the group finds out that the base wasn’t just for housing Imperial weaponry but also a laboratory.
Upon further investigation, they find out that this was the lab that Baby Yoda’s DNA was taken to in the first season. Not only that, but they discover that Moff Gideon is still alive and hunting Baby Yoda.
The episode ends with a high-speed chase, with TIE fighters and speeder bikes chasing the group in a Trexler Marauder.
Fighting off the troopers, the group manages to get back to their safe town. Mando picks up the child and heads out to find jedi.
The episode ends with a double agent who worked for Greef Karga and Moff Gideon. The double agent manages to put a tracking beacon on the Razor Crest and assures Gideon that the child is still with the Mandalorian.
Continuing with the trend in the show, this episode has a great plot. Action packed, objective achieving and continuing with the fantastic storyline, “The Mandalorian” is continuing to give fans exactly what they want.
Bringing back the TIE fighters and speeder bikes connects the show to the films even more. Now seeing familiar planets and vehicles, the audience sees “The Mandalorian” having a bigger effect on the storyline of Star Wars as a whole.
One thing that viewers may notice is Baby Yoda is still showing his force abilities. In this season, he hasn’t done much with his powers, but this episode, he moved a pack of cookies towards himself. It wasn’t big, but it reminds the audience that he still has them.
As Mando continues to find a home for the child, fans are on the edge of their seat for the next episode. Hopefully soon, Ahsoka Tano will finally make her debut in this series.
But as of this episode, “The Mandalorian” has pleased Star Wars fans once again with another exciting chapter.
