“The Mandalorian” – Season 2, Episode 6: “The Tragedy” Review

In the sixth episode of the This Is the Way Weekly podcast, Colton Pleslusky and Sam Roberts discuss "The Tragedy," the sixth episode of season two of "The Mandalorian."

Disney’s “The Mandalorian” has kept the attention of and entertained the “Star Wars” fandom like no other show. The latest episode, “The Tragedy,” has once again has wowed fans.

Following Ashoka’s orders to find Grogu, formerly known as “Baby Yoda,” a Jedi willing to train him, Mando and Grogu end up at Tython. Here, Grogu reaches out through the force to contact other Jedi.

During this, a familiar ship begins to descend down to them. It’s none other than Boba Fett’s ship. Out comes Boba Fett himself as well as former captive of Mando’s Fennec Shand.

Boba Fett makes a deal with Mando. If he gives him his armor back, Fennec and himself will make sure Grogu is safe. As the deal is settled, Empire forces land.

A scenic shootout and battle is performed by the three versus multiple stormtroopers. During this, Moff Gideon sends out the new Dark Trooper to kidnap Grogu.

The Dark Troopers are successful, and for the second time in the entire show, Grogu is taken from Mando. Boba Fett and Fennec hold their bargain true and vow to help Mando retrieve Grogu.

This show is great at cliffhangers. Each episode ends perfectly to leave viewers with the dissatisfaction of an end. By the time credits roll, viewers can’t wait for the next episode.

With that, it is obvious why the episode is titled “The Tragedy.” Fans have to sit in worry and anticipation for the next episode to find out what Gideon plans to do with the beloved Grogu.

With the arrival of Boba Fett in the series, theories of the storyline can be made, further linking the show to the original Skywalker storyline, including how Fett didn’t die in “Return of the Jedi” and looking into what he’ll do next.

Now, fans have to wonder what Gideon wants with Grogu. Are they using his DNA to revive Jedi? Are they reviving someone else? Are they going to give force abilities to normal humans?

One more question that will be answered is the use of the new Dark Troopers. Will they be seen again? If so, what havoc will they wreak next?

There is such a wide range of what theories could be made. But “Star Wars” fans never fear because they know their questions will be answered.

During the big shootout with Fett, Shand, Mando and the army of stormtroopers, show-stopping music can be heard from a grand orchestra. This adds great intensity to the scene, making viewers sit on the edge of their seats as the fight goes on.

The choreography is also great. Boba Fett uses a curved, sharp staff for melee combat. With so much gunfire in the show, it is great to see a melee weapon being used to its full potential in the last episode with Ahsoka and now with Boba Fett.

Surprisingly, the episode is on the shorter side, being just 34 minutes. Nevertheless, the episode is action-packed. The runtime just flies by.

Now this highly skilled trio have a goal of saving the child from the hands of the Empire. Viewers across the world want their questions answered but will have to wait one more week.
