“I think people pay too much attention to the big name school guys,” Boise State cornerback Jamar Taylor said.

Taylor could be the next Bronco from the blue turf selected in the first round of the NFL draft but isn’t getting all the buzz he should be.

Taylor is a physical corner with good straight-line speed that works well in press coverage. He was Boise State’s lockdown corner and finished his career with seven interceptions, 18 pass breakups and six forced fumbles.

And let’s not forget that this is not just any small school, it’s Boise State, who has taken down the big boys on national stages. Taylor remembers his 100-yard interception return his junior season vs. Brock Osweiler, now with the Denver Broncos.

“When you see our record against those teams,we match up well," Taylor said. "At the end of the day, small schools have great players as well.”

Taylor has been working out in Boise and has some different plans for draft weekend as he hopes to be a first round pick but admits anything can happen.

“I just want my foot in the door,” Taylor said. “And I’ll make it happen from there. I’m preparing myself to be the best.”
