Aaron Mackley studies psychology at Millersville University in Lancaster, PA. During his downtime, he doesn’t play video games, or watch TV. Instead, he simply draws.

Drawing is a simple passion. All one needs is a pencil, an eraser, and a piece of paper. Mackley likes the idea of how drawing has no plot. You can “just go for it” instead of trying to get it perfectly right.

He explains his keen interest for futuristic works in the video.

Shawn Vengoechea

Senior / Broadcast Journalism

Shawn found his passion early in high school after taking a journalism course. Realizing he could combine sports and writing together, he decided to make this a career goal. Working for WOYK 1350 in York, Pennsylvania, Shawn was able to obtain experience in radio writing/reporting by covering high school basketball games.

Deciding to attend Penn State University, Shawn is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. Participating in ComRadio fall 2012, he did several play-by-plays for State College High School. Taking courses that teach broadcast skills and multimedia skills, Shawn has gained practical experience for his future career.

Goals for the future include working for a sports broadcasting company such as ESPN, Comcast Sports, or Fox Sports. Continuing to build his resume, he plans on learning even after college is over. Working with sports in any capacity is something he would not only excel in, but enjoy doing. At a young age he was told, “shoot for the moon, because even if you miss you’ll land amongst the stars.”
