Willie Jungels sat down with Bill O'Brien to discuss the team at the halfway point of the year. The head coach also addresses this week's game versus Ohio State as well as what he most enjoys about being at Penn State.

Erin is a junior intending to major in Film, but with a soft spot for Broadcast Journalism. Her love of videography and multimedia compel her to exercise these skill sets in as many areas as possible. She hopes to work behind the scenes in either a newsroom setting or perhaps concentrate her work into the field of Cinematography in collaboration with a major motion picture studio.

Alex Gilliland is a Senior majoring in Broadcast Journalism from York, Pennsylvania. Alex is enrolled in Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College and plans to graduate in May of 2014.


Alex is currently working for CBS Sports in New York City as a Sports Production intern.


Alex aspires to become a sports anchor and a play-by-play broadcaster for a major sports network. He has been reporting and anchoring since high school and is a member of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism. In addition to working as a Sports Director for ComRadio, Alex works for the Centre Country Report and is currently employed by the Video Department of Penn State Athletics as a Production Assistant, Play-by-Play Broadcaster and Reporter.


Alex also broadcasts Penn State Women’s Soccer for Big Ten StudentU and football and basketball games for C-NET in State College.


In addition to media work at Penn State, Alex has completed multiple internships in the broadcast field over the summer semesters. Alex has worked for CBS Sports as a Sports Production intern in New York City, Dial Global Sports/Westwood One Radio in New York City, the National Football Foundation in New York City, FOX 43 Sports in York, PA and Sports Radio 1350 WOYK in York, PA.

Senior / Broadcast Journaism

Willie Jungels is a senior majoring in broadcast journalism. He is a sports anchor/reporter for the Centre County Report and is also a sports director at ComRadio primarily covering the football team as well as breaking sports news. Two major stories that he was involved in covering were the Jerry Sandusky scandal and the 2013 Maxwell Football Awards. His goal is to become a television reporter covering sports in Philadelphia and later become a talk show host. He has interned at NBC 40 WMGM in Atlantic City, 97.3 ESPN Radio WENJ and for the past two summers at NBC 10 WCAU in Philadelphia. Willie also is a fill in producer for the Steve Jones show on ESPN 1450 WMAJ in State College. Willie lives in Northfield, NJ just outside of Atlantic City and enjoys spending time with his friends at the beach.
