Tony Sapia, the owner of Gemelli Bakers, is best known in State College for his bread. Starting off his career as a cook, and cooking his way around the world, he stumbled upon the problem of  being unable to find good bread.

At the urging of his good friend Kim Tait, the owner of Tait Farms, he began baking for local businesses. Moving from one client to over a hundred clients in the span of ten years, his business has grown, reaching as far as Altoona.

As his business continues to grow Tony says that he wishes to stay local, for fear of becoming a truck driver instead of a baker. The passion that he has for bread making can be seen in the variety of bread he bakes, and his constant experimentation with new recipies.

His bakery name, Gemilli, comes from the Italian word twin, named after his twin boys. Gemilli’s provides bread for local businesses like Bradley’s, The American Ale House, Are You Hungry?, The Nittany Lion Inn and more.
