Centre County Historical Award Ceremony
This weekend was the 31st annual John H. Sickler Historic Preservation Awards of the Centre County Historical Society. This award ceremony was put on by the Executive director of the Centre County Historical Society, Mira Sorensen. The event hosted many people in the community that either put on different types of historical re-enactments or have taken time and energy to preserve historical landmarks. Ms. Sorensen shared that this event is important to her because in a new age of technology and constant change she feels it is important to continue to preserve the past within our communities. These people seemed to be very happy to be attending the event and getting recognition for the work they are passionate about.
