UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — College Gameday is returning to Penn State.

The Nittany Lions’ 6-0 start to the season has started to turn heads, and Penn State currently ranks seventh in the latest AP Top 25 poll. With this ranking in mind, ESPN's College Gameday has announced that it will be returning to State College for the third year in a row.

In past years, College Gameday took place on the Old Main lawn, but with Old Main under construction, setup will make its way to the HUB lawn, right in the middle of the University Park campus.

John Murphy, a junior, expressed his excitement when he found out that College Gameday will be coming back to State College.

“I’m really excited that College Gameday is coming back to Penn State,” Murphy said. “This is my third year here. It’s pretty awesome having them be here every year I’ve been here. I love seeing the crew here. I love seeing them set up. It’s just a wonderful time every time.”

For college freshmen, this kind of atmosphere will be brand new to them, but Josh Bauer has already found ways to get in on the fun.

“I’m not going to camp out but I am a part of Nittanyville,” Bauer said. “That’s definitely an exciting experience especially as a freshman.”

College Gameday’s visit to State College will coincide with Penn State’s annual White Out game. This year, the Nittany Lions will host 16th-ranked Michigan at what is expected to be a sold-out Beaver Stadium. The game is set to kick off on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
