Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle Vist Penn State
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Tuesday night, Penn State’s chapter of “Turning Point USA” hosted Charlie Kirk as a part of his spring 2019 Campus Clash tour. Kirk was joined by President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., as well as his girlfriend and former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle in the Thomas Building on Penn State’s campus.
A variety of topics were discussed, ranging from President Trump’s presidency and the potential struggle for conservatives on college campuses. Roughly 700 students packed the auditorium, with most of them in support of Kirk.
There were a few in opposition who voiced their protests throughout the event before being removed by campus police.
Preston Shoemaker, a freshman at Penn State, attended the event, an opportunity he had been looking forward to for a while.
“I have been a follower of Charlie Kirk for a few years now and a good friend of mine got the opportunity to listen to him speak at Liberty University and I was extremely jealous,” Shoemaker said. “I really wanted to enjoy him coming here and am just really excited to come and hear what he has to say and enjoy the moment.”
Getting the opportunity to hear first-hand from someone involved in the political process was another exciting aspect of the event for Penn State freshman Trevor Paolone.
“You learn about all this stuff in school and that’s great and all but you really want to get these opportunities to actually learn about this from someone who is actually on the scene every day," Paolone said. "You got to take advantage of it.”
The event concluded with a question and answer session where leaders of Penn State’s “Turning Point USA” chapter presented questions asked on social media for Kirk, Trump and Gouilfoyle to answer.
