Fantasy Football Breakdown: Week 4
Host Logan Bourandas and analysts Aidan Torok, Matt Rudisill and Alex Rocco look into another week of fantasy football. They look at best starts, sits and waiver-wire pickups for Week 4 of the NFL.
With another electric week of football gone by, we saw quite a few massive fantasy performances and a lot of duds as well. Fantasy is all about building for the next week, so seek to do exactly that this week. This article will construct a roster of players to look for going into Week 4 of the NFL season.
At quarterback, Nick Foles is a name to look at going into Week 4. Foles was just given the starting job by coach Matt Nagy, and after leading the team to a major comeback win and throwing three touchdowns in relief of Mitchell Trubisky, Foles is looking to capitalize on the momentum.
A wide receiver to target going into Week 4 is Allen Lazard. Look to chase the points here because any time Davante Adams is out, Lazard is getting a bigger target share from Aaron Rodgers.
Another receiver to pick up is Chase Claypool of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Claypool played 76 percent of the team’s offensive snaps this past week and will seek more targets from Ben Roethlisberger going forward. Owned in only 14% of ESPN leagues, snatch up Claypool as a deep bench slot for a late-season playoff push.
Alvin Kamara shines as a must-start running back this week. With Michael Thomas out, Kamara has been the best fantasy running back in the league. Kamara wrecks the game in every way, and expect him to decimate the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Another running back to check out is Adrian Peterson of the aforementioned Lions. Peterson carried the ball 22 times on Sunday, his highest volume of the season. He has also busted a run of at least 20 yards in each game this year. Maybe Peterson still has it.
At the tight end position, look no further than Mike Gesicki of the Miami Dolphins. A red zone machine, Gesicki goes up against a Seattle defense that allowed over 500 yards of offense to Dallas last week. Gesicki only secured one catch last week, but it was for a touchdown. He should return to form.
A flex name to look at this week in super leagues is Ryan Fitzpatrick of the Miami Dolphins. “Fitzmagic” is only owned in 8% of ESPN leagues, and after scoring 25+ points two weeks in a row, he will certainly need to sling it this week to keep up with Russell Wilson and the high-powered Seahawks offense.
As for a player to avoid, it’s a good idea to keep Evan Engram on the bench. He has not surpassed 10 fantasy points in any of his three games, likely due to the Giants’ anemic offense. There are far better tight end options.
