STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — State College had a great turnout for its annual Food Truck Rally on Sunday.

Community members enjoyed a wide variety of food trucks and live music by the acoustic duo “Hops and Vines,” while the kids played games and activities with the Centre Region Parks and Recreation truck.

Proceeds and a raffle with great local prizes supported the Centre County Homeless Shelter, run by Housing Transitions.

From 12-3 p.m., a range of food trucks blocked off the 200th block of Allen Street, including “Bonnie Blue’s Smokeys and Sweets,” “Happy Dishes,” “Carter’s Table Trademark Tacos” and more. For those who have a sweet tooth, “Crumbkoswki” and “Sunset Slush” were there to provide some sweet treats.

Flavia Barger from Brazilian Munchies says why her food truck participated. “We came to the Food Truck Rally to support a good cause. It’s our first year here. We were invited before, but we were busy, so unfortunately we could not make it, but we are glad that we are able to do this event this year.”

Robert Henry, one of the volunteers from Housing Transitions says what the cause supports. “They are an organization that supports the homeless in Centre County. We have a home a few blocks from here where the homeless community will live anywhere from 12-18 months in an organized fashion and we also do rapid rehousing.”
