Former Four-Star Penn State Football Recruit Zack Kuntz Enters Transfer Portal

After three years at Penn State, Zack Kuntz is on his way out of Happy Valley.

First reported by Sean Fitz of Lions247, the former four-star tight end out of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal. Standing at 6 feet 7 inches and 258 pounds, Kuntz caught just three passes for 26 yards in 21 games for the Nittany Lions.

Kuntz saw time in seven contests during the 2020 campaign but did not record a catch. Even with a midseason injury to Pat Freiermuth, Kuntz had fallen out of favor and was beyond both Brenton Strange and Theo Johnson on the depth chart.

Having completed his redshirt sophomore season, Kuntz is entering the portal as a graduate transfer and will be eligible to play immediately at whatever school he decides to attend next.
