Improvising in tap shoes

Story posted March 10, 2013 in News by Jessica Wabara

When Chloe Weaver first learned to tap dance, she had a horrible experience. However, with the help of an instructor from Chicago, Weaver improved her tap skills. Weaver played musical instruments in high school but wanted to learn a dance that incorporated the rhythm from music.

Weaver said her favorite thing about tap dancing is the fact it allows her to do improvisation. She does improvisational dancing alone or with other people.

The history and German studies major dances to both live and recorded music. She also enjoys dancing to pop songs.
