Inside her classroom at State College High School, Melanie Lynch teaches students about health. On evenings and weekends, she becomes "Pinky Balboa," delivering crushing blows to her opponents in State College Area Roller Derby.

Blockers are the defensive players preventing the other teams jammer from scoring and clearing the way for their own jammer.
