Making it in the music business is an all-the-time job for Penn State alum

Story posted March 3, 2013 in News by Rich Cancro

Ugo "The U" Onyianta graduated from Penn State with a degree in broadcast journalism in spring 2011 and hasn't taken a day off since. No days off has been his catch phrase since his hero and inspiring artist Wale started using it two years ago. The U is very ambitious and aggressive in achieving his goals, which is why he takes the saying so deeply to heart.

The U is slowly making his way up as he has gone from doing releasing mix tapes and doing small house parties to bars and clubs and is now on the verge of having a big-time record deal. "People don't realize it's a lot of hard work," he says. "People see Kanye and others on TV and yeah they have a lot of money but people don't realize it's because they're always working."
