NHL Fantasy Hockey: Week 16
Coming into the All-Star matchup in fantasy hockey, the matchup will essentially be two weeks of battles in one and will end on Feb. 12.
For the first part of the week, only the Hurricanes, Jets, Blues, Kings, Capitals, Blue Jackets, Bruins, Senators, Canadiens, Sabres and Maple Leafs take the ice.
The Hurricanes are the only team to play twice this week so it would be wise to stream their players this week.
Brett Pesce is owned in under ten percent of leagues and has just under 70 points on the season and is a key piece to the Hurricanes' defense.
Seth Jarvis, Jordan Staal and Tuevo Teravainen are all parts of Carolina’s offense that should be targeted while it is also likely that Antti Raanta gets a start.
Another team to target is Washington, playing Columbus before the All-Star Break.
Forwards Dylan Strome, Garnet Hathaway and Conor Sheary are all good streaming options this week and have each produced at a steady pace all season long.
On defense, Nick Jensen and Erik Gustafson have been consistent and have low ownership in leagues so they can easily be picked up for an extra boost.
For the second week, Kirby Dach is someone who should be heavily considered as he has a little over 20 points in the past 15 days and is having the best season of his career so far.
Kevin Hayes should be rostered in at least half of the leagues but he hasn’t yet and that could be because he plays for the Flyers, who are not a scoring powerhouse but Hayes has been a bright spot.
Hayes has a total of 44 points on the season with 91.3 points on the season and would be an immediate upgrade for any fantasy team.
Victor Olofsson has been very hot as of late as he has five goals in his past five games and is owned in under 20 percent of leagues.
The Sabres do have a lot of scoring potential with Tage Thompson, Jeff Skinner and Dylan Cozens, so look to Olofsson to capitalize off those opportunities.
Avalanche center JT Compher has been overlooked because of how talented the team that he plays for is, but he does get a lot of blocked shots.
Compher also has over a point in his last five games even though he has scored just one goal in that time and averages 1.7 points per game.
Cam Fowler has been great in the past but is well past his peak.
Fowler has put up 10.5 points in the past week and it would be wise to hop on while his hot streak continues.
Brendan Dillon has also been a good performer over the past week and should be considered for rosters as a streamer pick because he has a game before the All-Star break.
