Nuclear engineer combats boredom with beat-boxing
Penn State junior Mike Gavalek devotes most of his waking hours to his nuclear engineering homework.
But when Gavalek isn't hitting the books - or sometimes when he is - he's beat-boxing. He first learned to beat-box in high school and has been at it ever since, he said. Gavalek said he turns to beat-boxing to pass the time whenever he gets bored.
Sometimes, he also has the privilege of connecting with others who share his love of beat-boxing and gets to practice with them, he said.
