UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University announced a vaccine mandate for all University Park faculty and staff members Wednesday morning.

This is in compliance with President Joe Biden’s executive order which requires vaccines for federal employees even if they aren’t on federal contracts from back on Sept. 9.

The deadline for all staff to be fully vaccinated is on Dec. 8 which is toward the end of the Fall 2021 semester. This means that the last day to receive the final dose to meet the deadline is Nov. 24.

An individual must wait two weeks after the only shot of Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or after the second dose of either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, to qualify as fully-vaccinated.

Penn State joins a growing list of universities across the country which have recently added the vaccine mandate for their faculties.

The CommRadio news staff will have more on the story in Wednesday’s newscast.
