Player Spotlight: Robbie Gould
The San Francisco 49ers are back in the Super Bowl for the first time since losing to the Baltimore Ravens 34-31 in Super Bowl 47. The majority of 49ers on this year's Super Bowl team have never attended the big game besides their kicker, Robbie Gould. The former Penn State walk-on is looking to redeem his demons, after losing as a member of the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl 41 to the Indianapolis Colts, 29-17.
"I'm just really trying to soak this one up, even in year 15," Gould said.
Gould admits that even with one Super Bowl under his belt it's a whole new experience.
"It's kinda unique because, as much as this game has changed, its new for me too," Gould said.
Gould reflects on his four years at Penn State as a pivotal point in his life.
"I was just happy to be on a roster and obviously happy to be at a place where I can play in the NFL," Gould said.
Robbie Gould and the rest of the 49ers will look to clinch the franchise's sixth Super Bowl on Feb. 2, tying them with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots for the most Super Bowls.
