PSU senior battles a depressing day by penning an original song for YouTube

During freshman year at Penn State, Jillian Klueber made it a priority to find a way to incorporate music into her studies. After being involved with choir since middle school, Jill, now a senior, auditioned for Essence of Joy at Penn State and has been a member ever since. She teaches herself how to play the guitar in her free time.

Inspiration struck on Feb. 14 when she and her roommates didn't have a date for Valentines Day. Their song, with the same name as the "depressing holiday," has been viewed over 180 times on YouTube.

Katie Montgomery is a senior majoring in broadcast journalism with a minor in sociology. Graduating in Spring of 2012, she wants to enter the sports broadcasting field. Katie has been a sports writer for The Daily Collegian, Penn State’s student run newspaper, for three years and has covered numerous sports including ice hockey, rugby, gymnastics and fencing.
