In the second episode of the This Is the Way Weekly podcast, Colton Pleslusky, Cade Miller and Sam Roberts review "The Passenger," the second episode of season 2 of "The Mandalorian."

The second episode of season two of “The Mandalorian” is a definite shift from the previous one. Chapter 9, titled “The Passenger,” was made to feel like more of a western cowboy episode. We don’t see anything like that now.

Chapter 10 starts off with Mando and Baby Yoda getting ambushed by a group of people. With the pressure of Baby Yoda being held captive, we still get to see Mando using his quick wits, killing someone using his jetpack. Then Mando goes on his merry way to see his friend Peli Motto to help him find the other Mandalorians and return Baby Yoda to his kind.

While doing this, Mando takes on the mission of helping a frog woman get to the system with her eggs. Now on his way to the system, Mando gets stopped by two X-wing fighters.

This is the first time the show has shown the X-wings. Finally connecting the show to the films, this brings a good visual that the New Republic is actually up and running.

When the two pilots of the New Republic ask for ID from Mando, he takes off into a snowy planet to get away.

Crash landing, Mando, the child, the frog woman and her eggs are trapped in the now-wrecked Razor Crest while the temperature is dropping quickly.

On this planet, they get themselves into a running match with a giant spider and its babies. Mando fends off the spiders but hope seems to be lost.

This scene is very similar to the spider scene in “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” in which Harry and Ron come across a huge spider and have to run for their lives before getting eaten.

Before long, the two X-wing pilots help ward off the rest of the spiders. They notice Mando is wanted, but he has helped the New Republic bring in many criminals, so they let him go.

He fixes up his ship and heads out to the system with a partly broken ship, a mother and her eggs and Baby Yoda.

Again, for the first time, it has been revealed to the audience that the New Republic is in order. This can now open the show up for more scenes featuring the new government.

Something that viewers can really notice in these last two chapters is how the child is becoming more aware. He is now starting to communicate with Mando using hand singles. He also closes his floating capsule before a fight breaks out.

Having this aspect of the child learning to do more things can make Baby Yoda more involved in the story. We have seen him become very important in fight scenes using his force abilities. But we could possibly see him become more communicative with Mando or even speak at some point.

It was clear that this chapter had two objectives: get Mando into the system and introduce the occurrence of the New Republic. This episode was a bridge.

Next, we should see Mando in the system, dropping off the mother to her husband and maybe finding other Mandalorians there.

Nonetheless, the episode was action-packed and entertaining. Every installment of “The Mandalorian” is a great piece of work and an addition to the Disney empire.
