Romina Fano-Barberi suffers from Turner’s syndrome, and although she may look like a normal girl her father actually did a lot to maintain a normal lifestyle for her. Her father, Alberto, realized that Romina’s little sister was growing up taller than her, and went on pure instinct thinking that something was wrong with her and took her to see a doctor. After being diagnosed, Alberto desperately tried to find affordable treatment and ended up selling his entire fashion company (Marlin’s) in Peru, in order to devote more time researching on the Internet for treatment.

After finally finding and receiving generous treatment from a church in Atlanta, Georgia, Romina moved to the states with her sisters and mom to treat her syndrome. She now resides in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she currently lives a normal lifestyle. She owes it all to her father, Alberto who is considered by her to be her biggest supporter and most thankful relative.

Aside to Romina’s Turner Syndrome, she also has a bone condition in which there is a lack of calcium in her body transforming her bones to become more brittle. In order to treat this she maintains a healthy diet with a high calcium intake, as well as taking her estrogen pills daily.

According to Romina, Alberto has been a part of everything she has done in her life. She says that she is one of the luckiest girls in the world, because she is able to have a father who will go to the end of the universe to show his love for his daughter.

Romina offers advice to girls who struggled with the same issue as her by advising them to never give up. She addresses that family support is important, and is a very big reason why progress occurs.
