Another week of football is upon us in the Big-12. Headlined by a top-20 matchup and a classic rivalry game, this weekend is sure to produce some great games.

Let's take a look at the key matchups in the Big 12 this week:

Kansas (0-4) @ No. 20 Kansas State (3-1)

The Governor’s Cup will be on the line this Saturday for one of the oldest rivalries in college football.

Kansas State comes into this matchup after coming away with a 21-14 victory over TCU last Saturday. With quarterback Skylar Thompson out for the season, it has been up to Freshman Will Howard to step up to the plate and fill that gap that Thompson left.

Howard completed less than half of his attempts last week against TCU and only threw for 117 yards and an interception. Although his performance has been lackluster, he has still helped this team to a top-25 ranking and kept them at the top of the Big 12 standings.

Looking at the Jayhawks, so far this season has been something that this team would probably like to forget. Kansas has trailed by large margins in every game it has played this year, and with problems at the quarterback position, it will be tough to correct these problems.

Kansas QB Miles Kendrick did not play well in a 38-17 loss to West Virginia last week. Kendrick completed 14 of his 23 passes for only 95 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.

Coach Les Miles hinted in his press conference this week that a multi-quarterback system may be a possible strategy for this offense in an attempt to keep itself afloat.

With the Jayhawks sitting at 0-4 on the year, it is tough to imagine this game ending up in a victory for them.

Oklahoma (2-2) @ TCU (1-2)

The Sooners are fired up after a huge victory last week against No. 23 Texas, in what was a 53-45 instant classic that ended up going into four overtimes.

Oklahoma’s high-powered offense is no joke. Led by Spencer Rattler’s impressive arm, the Sooners’ offense has been balling out every single week.

Rattler has already thrown for over 1,180 yard and nine touchdowns in just 4 games this season. The connection to tight end Austin Stronger and wideout Marvin Mimms has been solid all year and have been the result of another solid offense built by Lincoln Riley.

For TCU, they are led by quarterback Max Duggan who has really been doing it all for them. Duggan is the teams’ leading passer, as well and its leading rusher.

TCU’s defense, which has been solid all year and shows no signs of letting up, will be what keeps them in this game. TCU hasn't played any teams that have the offensive attack that Oklahoma has, so it will be interesting to see how they will fair against the Sooners.

No. 17 Iowa State (3-1) @ No. 6 Oklahoma State (3-0)

Iowa State have been playing well this year, as it is undefeated in the Big 12 and hopeful for a shot at the Big 12 championship.

Quarterback Brock Purdy has stepped up as a leader for this team. Completing 75 percent of his passes this year, Purdy has been the anchor of this Cyclones offense. As for the Cyclones’ backs and receivers, they have all been playing well all-around and have propelled them at 3-1 overall record.

Iowa State’s defense has also been playing well all year. In fact, the Cyclone’s defense is great against the run.

Iowa State’s size up front has made them one of the best rush defenses in the nation, having allowed no more than 120 yards rushing in any matchup this year. If the Cyclones can stop the run, they can stop Oklahoma State.

As for the Cowboys, they are the highest ranked team in the Big 12 and for good reason. Their rushing attack, led by Chuba Hubbard, has been absolutely lighting it up this year.

Last week, Hubbard rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns against Kansas. Hubbard has scored a touchdown in every game this year so far and looks to continue that streak against Iowa State.

The run will be the biggest factor in this game. If Hubbard has another one of his spectacular days, it might be game over for Oklahoma State
