She started singing around the same time she started talking. First learning from her mother, a church organist and singer, Megan Swift was born to make music.

Swift, a junior digital and print journalism major at Penn State, wrote her first song while still in high school as a graduation gift to two of her best friends. Realizing that she could combine her two passions, writing and music, she decided that one day she would publish her own album. Four years later that day has come. On March 12, Swift's first single, "Loving You Hurts" was released.

The single, as well as many of the other songs soon to be released on Swift's debut album "Lavender," are piano-based ballads with sound and style influences from Adele, Taylor Swift, and 50's crooners. Of songwriting and writing in general, Swift says, "I do it because I know my words impact audiences, it's cool to know I have the power to impact peoples' lives like that."

"Loving You Hurts" can be found on TikTok and YouTube and streamed on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
