“The Bachelor” Season 27 Episode 1 Review

Bachelor nation is happy again now that a new season of “The Bachelor” has begun. Grab some roses and wine, if you’re of age of course and let’s talk about love and drama.

Zach Shallcross is the 27th bachelor and he was chosen due to his failed relationship with one of the bachelorettes from Season 19 of “The Bachelorette”, Rachel Recchia.

Shallcross discovered he would be given a second chance at love at the season finale of “The Bachelorette.”

His journey started off in a strange way. He met five women the same night he found out he would be the next bachelor. This is the first time that the franchise has done this. Shallcross had his first impressions and the world decided who deserves the first impression rose.

Brianna Thorbourne had the most votes.

Going into the episode, 25 more women were introduced. The way the women introduced themselves to Zach was far more boring this season than in the past.

The most shocking thing that happened was Shallcross asked to kiss one of the women right away. He said he felt a true connection with Bailey Brown.

At the Final Rose ceremony, Shallcross could not remember her name. However, he made up for it by kissing her first. Hopefully, Brown has higher standards going forward.

Many people are saying that Shallcross is the most boring bachelor…which may be correct. For crying out loud, he started the cocktail party by saying, “I’m just a dude who loves family, football and frozen pizzas.” Super cringe.

As usual, the women were complaining about how they haven’t had enough time with him. One woman in particular, Madison Johnson, caused a commotion on night one.

She pulled him several times and the others were jealous and upset. Honestly, for a fair reason. Johnson seems sensitive and no wonder she barely lasted one episode.

She asked him in a weird way if she was wanted on the show and the reason she was asking was that she did not feel like a “priority.”

Girl, do you know what show you are on? My goodness. Obviously, he said he did not feel a spark between them and asked her to leave.

Bachelor Nation has seen a lot of people cry on the show. Johnson, by a mile, was the worst cryer viewers have ever seen. It was so dramatic and unnecessary.

Many women have stood out to Shallcross like Cat, Charity, Greer and Christina. A majority of the nation agrees.

We’ll see if people have the patience to tune in every week.

At the end of the night and episode, ten women were eliminated. This is the highest number of women eliminated on night one, especially the first night going into the season.

What does this mean for the women? More of them can go on dates in the second episode. What does this mean for viewers? More drama.

Overall, pretty average episode. Fingers and roses crossed, relationships develop in the next episode.
