David “DJ” M. Bauer Jr. is a senior from Valencia, Pennsylvania majoring in broadcast journalism at Penn State. He is an editor, writer, producer, and play-by-play announcer for the CommRadio sports department. His writings include the Weekly NFL Game Picks series, Bauertology, and the NCAA Bubble Watch series. He is the co-host of the CommRadio talk show 4th & Long alongside Jeremy Ganes. Alongside Andrew Destin, Andrew Field and Zach Donaldson, he is one of CommRadio’s Penn State football insiders, a group of elite writers who cover Penn State football in depth during the 2020 season. He was also a production intern for the Frontier League’s Washington Wild Things baseball club. David Hadar is a senior from Chapel Hill, N.C., majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in entrepreneurship. He is a Sports Director with CommRadio in addition to being a play-by-play broadcaster. Additionally, David served as the voice of the Penn State Women’s Volleyball team for the 2018 and 2019 seasons, covering the radio broadcasts for all home and away matches. David previously interned with Westwood One Sports and the Saugerties Stallions. Jeremy Ganes is an aspiring sports broadcaster and journalist at Penn State. He writes articles, produces broadcasts, and announces games for the CommRadio Sports department. He also co-hosts an NFL-focused talk show called 4th & Long that airs live on CommRadio, alongside Francesco deFalco and DJ Bauer. In addition to Commradio content, Jeremy also assists in production and serves as an on-air personality to PSNtv show Penn State Sports Night, where he covers sports such as baseball and football. Junior / Broadcast Journalism

Ariel Simpson is a junior from Columbus, Ohio, now relocated to Bristol, Pa. She is majoring in broadcast journalism with a minor in sociology and is working towards her certificate for the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism.

For CommRadio, Ariel serves as an analyst and on-air personality host. She is the co-founder of the very first—and only—all-female NFL podcast on CommRadio, Gridiron Girls, now developed into an all-sports live talk show.

Outside of CommRadio, Ariel is the sports editor for a student-run multimedia outlet, The Underground. Over the summer, she had a chance to shadow a member of the Cleveland Indians’ production team. She hopes to be a sports reporter based out of Cleveland after school. Ariel was also a previous intern at the local radio station, B94.5.
