Fantasy Basketball Standout Players: Week 7

Story posted December 4, 2022 in

After seven weeks of the NBA season, there have been some stellar players consistently carrying fantasy basketball lineups as well as outperforming projected expectations.

However, there have been many recent standout performances so far this season, bringing unexpected joy or despair to all fantasy owners.

Here are some of the top standout performances in fantasy basketball so far this 22-23’ NBA season.

Standouts

Kristaps Porzingis, F/C, Washington Wizards

Porzingis has been averaging 21.6 ppg (points per game), the third most in his career so far, in only his second year with the wizards he has been having an all-star season. Nov 28. against the Minnesota Timberwolves Porzingis put up a career-high 41 points in the victory.

Directly after this huge win, Porzingis then continues this stupendous form by dropping 19 rebounds in the next game against the Brooklyn Nets. If he continues this pace, he should be considered for a spot on the All Star roster without hesitation.

Jayson Tatum, G, Boston Celtics

Since Nov. 21, other than one game he has scored over 25+ points. Averaging 30.8ppg so far, this season is the highest average of his career, looking to solidify his All Star status.

Against the Miami Heat on Nov. 30, Tatum dropped an amazing 49 points to help boost fantasy owners this week. Along with the unreal 40+ point performance, he also put up double digits in rebounds, boosting his fantasy stock too.

Anthony Davis, F, Los Angeles Lakers

In the most recent game on Dec. 2, Anthony Davis recorded an amazing 44 points along with 10 rebounds against the 2021 NBA champions, Milwaukee Bucks. To silence the critics with an outstanding double double performance boosts his overall stock and fantasy at the same time.

If Davis maintains this form he will be a must start week in and week out to finish the rest of the season. Coming off a major injury and with a new head coach, playing at the level Davis is, makes it even more impressive than it already is.

Nikola Jokic, C, Nuggets

The baack-to-back NBA MVP has been on an unreal pace of efficiency to start this season. Averaging nearly a triple double for the season so far, he’s been a fantasy beast with averages of 22.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game. Maintaining such a consistent performance regardless of who the opponent is, is an incredible ability..

Also, with the departure of defensive coach Wes Unseld Jr. leaving the Denver Nuggets staff, it’s truly incredible to be able to perform at such a high level too. In the game against Houston on Nov. 28, Jokic was only two assists shy of a triple double, with a 32 points, 12 rebound and eight assists. He’s a must start in fantasy.
